OVERVIEW

The project investigates an IKEA seat beyond its formal design, focusing on habits, behaviors, and everyday use. The research revealed the seat as primarily associated with studying, leading to the creation of a miniature “theatre” that embodies the emotional atmosphere of a study session.

The project concludes with a vertical video translating the concept of the little thetre into an analog horror inspired simulation.

The video followed the concept of the miniature depicts a massive pile of handwritten papers topped by a small house, symbolizing the separation between the study world above and everyday reality below the house representing the student as a place of safety. Clouds and falling paper fragments evoke winter study sessions. Enclosed in a display case, the scene shifts when the case is removed, revealing the seat beneath, distorted as if supporting the house, reconnecting study and reality.
